4. WEED CONTROL
Broadleaf Weed Control
If weeds are primarily non-grasses, aside from invasive grasses, we will give the area a broadleaf weed control treatment.
Your weeds will not disappear overnight. It could take up to a week for the results to fully take effect, so please be patient!
5. SEED PREPARATION
It’s important to ensure that your soil has enough moisture for the renovation to be effective. We ensure that the lawn is soaked to a depth of 6-8 inches then allow the soil to dry for 1-2 days before continuing the process.
One of the benefits of an organic lawn care program is that thatch naturally composts into your soil – in this case thatch is beneficial for your lawn and should not be removed. However, there are certain situations, even in an organic program, where thatch can be a problem. For example, if your lawn has a fungal infection thatch may need to be removed as part of the treatment program. In general we will let you know if de-thatching is necessary. If you are concerned about thatch in your lawn give us a call and our Specialist will assess your situation.
6. LAWN AERATION
Dependent upon your lawn’s needs, we offer two types of aeration services.
Pulls plugs of sod and soil from your lawn to create channels for air, water and roots to move deeper into your soil. Improves root growth, color, health and disease resistance.
Soil Soft Liquid Aeration
Organic liquid aeration with humic acid. This application contains organic polymers and over 40 different microbes and mycorrhizae to break up and activate your soil.
7. FERTILIZATION & SEEDING
An additional nutrient supplement may be recommended based on the laboratory test results of your soil. Potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and phosphorous (derived naturally from our organic seeding compost) are examples of possible soil deficiencies that may need correction.
Dethatching, soil amendments, sod removal and other work to prepare a badly damaged lawn for a complete renovation program are the initial steps to seeding. Choosing and planting of your chosen lawn type is the final step to our lawn renovation process. Contact our specialists today for questions on available lawn types or more information on the process!
